In Indonesia, the infection situation of the new coronavirus is rapidly deteriorating, and the shortage of medical oxygen is serious.

For this reason, the Japanese government has decided to send an oxygen concentrator to Indonesia.

In Indonesia, the spread of infections such as the Delta strain of the mutant virus confirmed in India continues, and the situation is serious, with more than 1,300 people dying on the 19th, the highest number ever.

As the number of patients increased, the demand for medical oxygen surged five times as much as before the spread of the infection, and sufficient oxygen was not available, so the government decided to send 2,800 oxygen concentrators to Indonesia.

The government plans to provide about 600 million yen free of charge and procure an oxygen concentrator through a UN agency, and plans to deliver it to the site by the middle of next month.

Indonesia has been vaccinated for about 2 million doses so far, and the government will continue to consider the necessary support until the local infection situation subsides.
