A suicide bomber struck a market in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, killing 35 people and the militant group IS = Islamic State issued a statement of crime.

According to Iraqi media, a bomb worn by someone was detonated on the 19th at the market in "Saddle City," which is located in the northeastern part of the capital Baghdad and is home to many Shiite Muslims.

The explosion has killed 35 people and injured 57 so far.

The market was crowded with shoppers at that time before the holidays, as Iraq will enter the holiday of the important Islamic religious event "Eid al-Adha" from the 20th.

The extremist organization IS = Islamic State has issued a statement on the Internet stating that it "exploded a belt with explosives in the crowd", claiming that it was a suicide bomber by its own crime.

Iraqi President Ali Abdullah Saleh strongly condemned the crime by posting on Twitter, "It is a tragic incident aimed at the citizens before the sacrifice festival."

In Iraq, there are sporadic attacks by extremist organization IS, such as a terrorist attack that killed 32 people in Baghdad in January, and there are concerns about the deterioration of public security.
