Lieutenant Linstet was captured by the Russians who burned the Swedish coast.

He died on board the fleet that continued north but was buried on Norby's skerries according to the death register in Nordmalingskyrka.

When Anders Ericsson found out, he felt he wanted to find the grave to honor his old colleague.

Takes help to look

Since the battle took place 300 years ago, it is difficult to find the exact location, so Ericsson has enlisted the help of both the National Land Survey, the Västerbotten Museum and the Church of Sweden to solve the mystery.

- Right now we are waiting for an answer from Lantmäteriet if the grave is on Norrbyskär or nearby islands so we can delimit the search area. We have also asked Västerbotten's museum what exactly we are looking for. It is easy for us to miss the place if it is just a pile of rocks, says Anders Ericsson.
