Georgia rugby team coach Levan Maisashvili suffers from respiratory problems and was placed on life support after contracting Covid-19, the Georgian Federation told AFP on Monday.

"Everything is being done to improve his state of health, which is stable. He is receiving care in a very high-level South African establishment, with very modern equipment to treat patients sick with Covid-19", explained a member. of the Federation.

Coming to South Africa to play two test matches against the Springboks, Georgia had to deal with several cases of Covid-19 after the first.

After the first test match won by the Springboks (40-9) on July 2 in Pretoria, this health situation within the Georgian selection led to the cancellation of the second, and another test which was scheduled at home against Scotland.
