According to RIA Novosti, the chairman of the Presidium of AKORT Igor Karavaev informed at the meeting that the association expects a drop in the cost of purchasing vegetables from suppliers with a new crop.

According to him, already now we can state a decrease in purchase prices for cabbage, potatoes, onions, carrots, beets.

“Undoubtedly, we will demand from retail, from large retailers, that this price reduction be broadcast to the shelf,” Yevtukhov said, in turn.

He stressed that the consumer should see this on the shelves of retail chains, "at least large ones, which set the tone today, first of all, in the pricing policy in the Russian Federation."

Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin called on employees of the Ministry of Agriculture to respond quickly to possible changes in food prices.

On July 16, URA.RU reported that in one of the villages of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, vegetables and fruits rose by 150%.
