Since the end of last year, the residents around Galmsjömyran in Sandviken municipality on the border with Dalarna have pushed public opinion against the plans for wind turbines in the area.
In May, the non-profit association "No to wind power on Galmsjömyran" was formed to gather all the different stakeholders in the area.
- We must do this to get our interests safeguarded, otherwise not all the necessary information will reach the politicians who make the decisions about this, says Jennie Johansson.
She is treasurer of the association and has had a cottage in the area for over 20 years.
"Go together"
These are 40 plants that are up to 280 meters high in the 21 square kilometer area west of Storvik in Sandviken municipality, which also extends into Falu municipality.
- When we go together, we get courage and support from each other to dare to contact municipalities, authorities, companies and convey what we experience, says Jennie Johansson.
