China News Service, July 19th. According to a comprehensive report from the Canadian "Sing Tao Daily", starting from July 5, there have been some changes in the regulations for entry into Canada and domestic travel in Canada. The procedures for returning from abroad may be more complicated than expected. And even if you travel within Canada, you may face difficulties entering certain provinces.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) sorted out relevant regulations and interviewed several "comers" to share their experiences.

About returning to Canada

Although Canadians who are fully vaccinated are now exempt from isolation after returning to Canada, there are still other requirements for this group of people.

Dukovich, her husband and 5-year-old granddaughter traveled to Croatia to visit their family in June this year. They stayed in Paris for two days before returning to Canada on July 7.

France requires travelers to show a negative test for the new coronavirus on arrival, but Dukovic and her husband were exempted because of their vaccination certificate, and the granddaughter was exempted because of her age.

However, the three grandparents must still be tested for the new crown virus in Paris before boarding the last flight back to Canada.

The current Canadian regulations are that travelers entering Canada, even if they have been fully vaccinated, must still provide a negative test result within 72 hours before arrival.

Dukovic was pleased to discover that France provided free testing at the time, otherwise they would have to spend at least 400 yuan.

However, starting from July 7, France will no longer provide free testing to travelers outside the European Union.

In addition, travelers to Canada must use the ArriveCAN app or register online to submit travel information to the federal government within 72 hours before arrival.

About arriving in Canada

After the traveler completes the information input, he will receive a receipt via email, which must be presented to the Canadian border officer upon arrival, along with their test results and all vaccination documents.

Planck, a Canadian citizen living in Barcelona, flew to Halifax with his wife and children on July 9.

He suggested that travelers print out paper documents before entering Canada.

Both land and air travelers will be tested after they arrive in Canada. Now they can also choose to receive a test kit. When they return home, they will complete the test through a video conference guided by a nurse, and then ask the express company to take the test kit away.

The federal government provides free tests, and travelers can pre-register online to save time.

If there are children with you

Travelers who are fully vaccinated do not need to be isolated while waiting for test results.

But Dukovic thinks she and her husband need to be isolated because their 5-year-old granddaughter who lives with them has not been vaccinated.

It was not until the third day of quarantine that Dukovic learned from a health official that only her granddaughter needed to be quarantined.

Travelers who have not been vaccinated or who have received vaccines not currently approved by the Canadian government must be quarantined for 14 days.

Passengers entering by plane must also stay at the quarantine hotel for up to 3 days at their own expense.

However, unvaccinated children under the age of 18 can go home with their vaccinated parents, but they must be isolated.

About traveling within Canada

For domestic travelers in Canada, these rules can also be complicated.

Those traveling by air in Canada do not need to do pre-arrival tests, but New Zealand, New Zealand, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Minma and several regions still need some inter-provincial travel Quarantine.

The rules may vary depending on the traveler’s vaccination status and where they come from.

For example, most Atlantic provinces now allow travelers from the Atlantic region to enter, regardless of their vaccination status.

The provinces and regions listed here may have further requirements for travelers, so travelers to these regions should check the rules online before packing their luggage.

For example, Atlantic provinces require certain travelers to pre-register, and travelers to Nunavut must first obtain authorization.

In addition, most tourists are still banned in the Northwest Territories.
