The Hessian health authorities reported 146 corona cases to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) overnight. The number of corona patients in intensive care and normal wards continues to decrease slightly. As the data from the RKI shows, the number of people who died with or from the virus has increased by one to 7564 since the pandemic began. The Offenbach district has to complain about the death. According to data from the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (Divi), there were 47 people with Covid 19 disease on Sunday in the Hessian intensive care units. 22 of them were ventilated.

The so-called seven-day incidence - the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days - continued to rise and was 13.2 on Sunday and thus remained at the same level as in mid-June, after having fallen steadily for weeks.

On Saturday the incidence was 12.3.

In a comparison across Hesse, Darmstadt again has the highest incidence of 36.3.

This is followed by Wiesbaden with 26.9 and Frankfurt with 26.2.

Of the total of 26 regions and cities in Hesse, 14 now have a double-digit incidence.

As far as the number of new corona cases is concerned, Frankfurt is still the front runner in Hesse at 39.

This is followed by Darmstadt at 16 and Main-Taunus-Kreis at 14. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 292,622 corona cases in Hesse.

The number of geriatric nurses employed in Hesse only decreased slightly during the corona pandemic.

Hesse's Minister of Social Affairs Kai Klose (Greens) replied to a parliamentary request from SPD member of the state parliament, Daniela Sommer.

According to data from the Federal Employment Agency, a total of 44,017 geriatric nurses were working in March 2020.

In June 2020 there were 43,434.

In September of the same year the number rose again to 43,932 geriatric nurses.

The number of nurses, midwives and employees of the various rescue services increased during the pandemic: While 81,252 people were still working in these professions in March 2020, the employment agency had 81,263 employees in June and 82,444 in September.

However, Klose was unable to say whether this trend continued in the first half of 2021.
