China News Service, July 18th. According to Kyodo News Agency, Japan’s Kyoto animation arson and murder case, which killed 36 people, marked its second anniversary on the 18th.

The company held a memorial ceremony at the site of the first studio in Fushimi District, Kyoto City at the scene of the crime.

  On July 18, 2019, an arson and homicide occurred at the Kyoto Animation No. 1 Studio, resulting in 36 deaths and 33 injuries. All the studios in the 3-story building were burned down.

Kyoto Prefecture Police arrested Shinji Aoba, the suspect in the arson case, in May 2020.

  President Hideaki Hatta said in his eulogy: "Excellent partners have gathered here. Everyone has been shining and shining. I will not forget you."

  The company's official channel also posted about 13 minutes of memorial videos on the video website.

It contains a message from the bereaved family: "No matter how time passes, the tears can't stop, and regrets only increase. I miss you so much."

  In the last part of the video, Kyoto Animation vowed to "continue to produce works, and convey emotion and hope for the future through works."
