The first alarm came around half past five on Sunday evening from Iggejaur, north of Moskosel and some half a mile from the E45.

Moskosel fire brigade and Arvidsjaur's rescue service went out and were able to gain control of the fire, which is estimated to have covered about one hectare, despite windy weather.

- It is under control, it blows a lot but it worked out.

It went towards a road so we had a good stop there as well, says Ulf Lundström who is the rescue chief on standby.

In the same breath, he says that there is now another fire about 20 km away, at Gaddegielas.

The fires should not be connected but separated by the Piteälven, and the latter is according to the alarm not great but there is a risk that it will spread with the wind.

- Rescue is on its way there.

It is circled that it is a ground fire, and half the force has gone from the biggest fire, says Lundström.
