Citizens in the Eastern Province suggested exchanging congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha from inside the vehicles, in compliance with the precautionary measures set by the health authorities in the country, to confront the Corona pandemic.

They told "Emirates Today" that they decided to take this measure in order to preserve the safety of the elderly, and to protect those with chronic diseases from exposure to the "Covid-19" virus.

Families in the eastern region have adopted a special timetable for the dates of Eid visits for senior citizens.

She confirmed her intention to prevent gatherings on one trip for more than one family, in addition to conducting a PCR examination for all.

Other families preferred visual greetings, because they are safe for everyone.

Abdullah Ali stated that he would be keen to greet everyone without leaving his vehicle, despite receiving two doses of the “Corona” vaccine, because he does not want to be a reason for the transmission of the virus to a patient or the elderly in the event of contact with an infected person without knowing.

Citizen Muhammad Abdullah Al-Dhanhani said: "We have put in place strict laws to celebrate Eid Al-Adha, with the aim of protecting our mother, who suffers from chronic diseases."

He confirmed that a paper was printed and hung on the door of the council, which includes the conditions that must be adhered to during the visit, which is sending a corona examination (negative result) before greeting, and wearing a mask.

Citizen Muhammad Ali Al Ali took similar measures, which included preparing the guest reception room in proportion to the precautionary measures imposed, to protect family members from the Corona virus, stressing the division of the council into parts, the separation of sofas from each other, and the allocation of spoons and plastic and paper plates for one use.

He explained that "adhering to the precautionary measures is much easier than losing a loved one or getting sick, especially since there are those who suffer from chronic diseases in the family."

Citizen Maryam Abdullah Al Hammadi stated that all family members agreed to the measures that she decided to take during the Eid, in the interest of her parents' health, noting that a schedule of visits had been set.

She pointed out that she had allocated a place for her parents to sit, so that the well-wishers of the family would not approach them.

Citizen Munira Al Balushi confirmed that her mother suffers from a chronic heart disease, which made her prefer car rides, in order to preserve her safety from infection with the Corona virus.

She stressed that her responsibility for her mother's health made her feel constant fear, and prompted her to cancel everything that could be the cause of the spread of the virus among her family members.
