“Social supplements to pensions are paid to all non-working pensioners whose material security does not reach the subsistence minimum (LW) in the region.

The social supplement to the pension is calculated as the difference between the size of the subsistence minimum and the material security of the pensioner.

On behalf of the President, from April 1, 2019, the procedure for indexing such payments was changed.

Earlier, income was first indexed, then the difference was calculated (up to the value of the PM), ”Bessarab explained.

She noted that as a result, the pensioner always received only a subsistence allowance, and the indexation being carried out in fact simply reduced the amount of social benefits.

"Since 2019, when determining the amount of social supplement to pension in connection with the indexation of the size of cash payments, the calculation of the total amount of material security for a pensioner includes the size of these payments without taking into account the indexation made in the current year," the deputy added.

At the same time, the parliamentarian emphasized that from January 2022, the social supplement to the pension will be established without a declaration from the date of the pension.

“It will no longer be required to provide a pensioner with an application, as well as other documents in order to receive social benefits for pension.

This is an improvement of the current system, ”Bessarab concluded.

As previously reported by the agency "Prime" with reference to the professor of the Department of Finance and Prices of the PRUE.

Plekhanov Yulia Finogenov, in Russia from 2022 a social supplement will be assigned to the minimum subsistence level in the region.

If the size of the pension assigned to a citizen turns out to be below the value of the regional subsistence minimum of a pensioner, then he is entitled to a social supplement up to the value of the minimum pension in this region.
