Floods in Europe kill 153 people, including 133 in Germany

The death toll from storms and floods in Germany has risen to at least 133, local police announced in a statement, bringing the death toll in Europe to 153.

"According to current information, ninety people died in the disaster in Rhineland-Palatinate," one of the worst-affected regions, police in Koblenz said.

This is in addition to the killing of 43 people in Rhenania, North Westphalia, another German region hit by storms, and the deaths of twenty others in Belgium.
