He decided to point his nose.

After a nightmarish month and weather worthy of All Saints' Day, summer has finally started in Brittany.

If the health crisis is still slowing our desire to travel, it is however possible to find happiness near home.

To occupy the children during this summer break,

20 Minutes

has listed five ideas for outings to get some fresh air and have fun around Rennes.

A giant maze in a cornfield

The concept is not new but it did not yet exist at the gates of Rennes.

From Tuesday, a corn field of about four hectares will turn into a giant labyrinth in the town of Montgermont.

The project is supported by the company Pop Corn Labyrinthe which already owns 24 parks across France.

In this maze of greenery of five kilometers, the course will be decorated with giant wooden games with also clues to be raised to solve puzzles.

Nocturnes will also be offered every Saturday evening until September.

At the end of the summer season, the cornfield will resume its initial function.

Open daily in July and August with departures from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Prices: from 6 to 7 euros, free for children under one meter.

Electric boat trips on the Vilaine

They have already been sailing since the end of March. For the third year in a row, the Little Boats are back in the Breton capital. Rented for one, two or three hours, the five or seven-seater electric boats allow you to discover Rennes from another angle by strolling along the water on the Vilaine or the Canal de l'Ille. You don't have to be a sea bass to get on board because the boats do not require a license. However, you will be given rapid training in river navigation and piloting just before setting sail. Unlike in other years, the departure is now at the Harbor Master's office located at the entrance to the Saint-Martin meadows and no longer from the Saint-Cyr quay.

Open every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Prices: 35 euros (five-seater boat) and 50 euros (seven-seater) for one hour;

55 euros and 70 euros for two hours;

75 euros and 90 euros for three hours.

Sensory trails at the Brocéliande Gardens

The place is now well known to Rennais and Rennais but it is still worth a detour.

In Bréal-sous-Montfort, the Jardins de Brocéliande awaken all your senses with sensory journeys during which 45 materials or textures are experienced.

In this 24 hectare botanical park, there is no shortage of activities with water games, nets stretched between the trees and a farmyard.

Shows and exhibitions are also offered throughout the summer.

Open every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Prices: 10 euros (adult);

6 euros (child);

free for children under six.

Day trips to the seaside

Unfortunately, not everyone has the chance to go on vacation.

To allow all families to enjoy seaside excursions, the city of Rennes is renewing its “Rennes by the sea and green” operation this summer.

Departures take place by coach every Monday and Wednesday from Esplanade De Gaulle with two destinations to choose from each time.

Once at their destination, everyone is free to organize their day as they see fit.

Departures every Monday and Wednesday until August 25.

Prices: 11 euros for over 15s;

6.50 euros from 5 to 15 years old;

free for children under five.

An aqualudic platform in the park of Maurepas

As every year, the swimming pools of Bréquigny, Gayeulles and Villejean are likely to run at full speed throughout the summer in Rennes.

For the little ones, three paddling pools have been set up in Bréquigny, near the Charles Géniaux sports complex and at the Hautes Ourmes square.

A 100 m² aqualudic platform has also appeared in the past few days in the park of Maurepas.

In the event of extreme heat, the city of Rennes has also planned to install misters and sprinklers.

Swimming pool prices: 5.10 € (adult);

€ 2.20 for children under 18;

Free for children under 3 years.

The timetables can be found on the site of the metropolis.
