After a week of 100 new cases per day, the authorities in New South Wales have decided to apply a new turn of the screw ... From Sunday July 18, only essential businesses will be able to remain open;

all construction sites are put on hiatus, as are cleaning services or home repair work if they are not of an emergency nature.

The regime is even more drastic for the inhabitants of three neighborhoods in southwest Sydney, which concentrate more than 80% of Covid cases.

With the exception of those who work in the health sector, no one is allowed to leave their quarters anymore… At the end of June already, Sydney had been

completely confined with the arrival of the Delta variant.

The situation, however, is far from out of control.

There have been around 1,000 cases since the appearance of this new epidemic focus on June 15, 75 people are currently hospitalized, including 18 in intensive care.

And so far only two people have died, both over the age of 80.

But for the authorities, there is no other possible solution.

.

The government initially ordered only vaccines almost exclusively from AstraZeneca before decreeing that it was only recommended for people over 60.

The limited stocks of Pfizer vaccines were then taken by storm.

To date, barely 11% of the population is fully vaccinated.
