A report issued by the "My Blood for My Country" campaign recently stated that the total number of donors reached 3,163 donors during a month, with 2,732 donors, and 431 donors, whether from government or private agencies or individuals, which confirms the interaction of the community, including residents and citizens, with the campaign since its launch. On the 13th of last June.

The report indicated that the largest number of donors from June 13 to July 14 were between 25 and 45 years old, with a total of 2,567 male and female donors, while 172 people under 25 donated, and 424 people over 45 years old.

Several government and private agencies interacted with the campaign, including the Emirates Foundation for School Education, Dubai Airport, Dubai Police, Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and others.

A number of government and private sector employees participated in the "My Blood for My Country" campaign to donate blood, based on the societal role that these bodies are keen to play, and to support the campaign in achieving its goals, to provide the required quantities of blood for patients in hospitals.

The campaign is implemented in a strategic partnership and fruitful cooperation between "Emirates Today" newspaper, "Khidmat Al-Amin" newspaper, and the Dubai Health Authority.

A number of leaders of the interacting parties participated in the campaign, which witnessed a great turnout for donation, stressing that “the campaign is a bright page that represents the civilized face of the state, and expresses the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among members of society,” calling on citizens and residents to donate to it, to contribute to the Saving the lives of others, and constantly providing the necessary quantities of blood in hospitals.

The leaders valued the efforts of the campaign participants, as this participation has a clear importance and impact in saving patients and critical cases, based on the societal responsibility that requires solidarity in the success of humanitarian initiatives that are in the interest of members of society as a whole.

They pointed out that the "humanitarian and national motive behind the donors' keenness to participate in blood donation campaigns," praising the keenness of the Emirates School Education Foundation's employees to participate in the campaign, helping patients who need every drop of blood to save their lives.

They considered such venerable humanitarian initiatives, which authorities and institutions in the Emirates have been launching, as a natural reflection of the extent to which members of society are keen on the safety of patients and alleviating the suffering of them and their families.

Donors stressed that they were keen to meet the call of the homeland and duty without an invitation, and to offer their blood to be in the service of those who need it from patients, stressing that everyone offers what they can for the elevation of this country.

The donor, Abdul Rahman Jamal, said that he is keen to donate regularly, because of the health and human benefits, stressing that every person must feel the need of others and meet them without being asked, calling on all members of society to adopt a spirit of social responsibility towards others.

Donor Hana Ahmed said that as soon as she heard about the campaign through radio stations, she took the initiative to come to the tent's headquarters and participate in it, with a patriotic and humanitarian motive in the first place, stressing her constant keenness to participate in such humanitarian events, and inviting her fans to initiate it.

The "My Blood for My Country" campaign was launched in its first session in 2012, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, who was the first blood donor at the moment of its launch, which contributed to the success of the initiative and encouraged community members to participate in the campaign. Since its first year, especially after His Highness emphasized the importance of the initiative, saying that “blood donation is the best gift that a citizen and resident can give, as an expression of love for the homeland, especially since there are sick and injured people who need every drop of blood.”

The campaign has achieved successive successes over the past years, enhancing the stock and capabilities of the Dubai Blood Donation Center, and its ability to provide sufficient quantities of blood for patients in need, in various hospitals in the public and private sectors in Dubai.
