July 16, 2021 The death toll from bad weather that hit French-speaking Wallonia, in the south of the country and especially the Liège area, on the border with Germany, worsens also in Belgium: 12 confirmed dead and 4 missing, according to reports the Belgian press. The local government has decided to allocate extraordinary financial resources for what the minister president of Wallonia and former premier of Belgium Elio Di Rupo defined as a "natural disaster".

More than 21,000 people are still without electricity and, according to reports from the company that manages the distribution of gas and electricity in Wallonia, "the conditions of access to the networks are very complicated, with at least 300 submerged cabins impossible to reach".
