Survival of all passengers of the missing plane in the Tomsk region of Russia

The Russian aviation agency announced on Friday that rescue services had found 18 people alive on board an Antonov An-28 passenger plane that disappeared from radars Friday in Siberia before the location of its emergency landing was determined.

"The 15 passengers and three crew members were found," Rosavitsia Agency said in a statement.

All the people on board (the missing plane) are alive," noting that the survivors are currently being transferred to the city of Tomsk.

Earlier in the day, the spokesman announced that four helicopters began searching for the plane that disappeared from radar screens, when it was in the Tomsk region of Siberia, central Russia, with 18 people on board, including four children.

"A search operation was organized using four Mi-8 helicopters, belonging to the Russian Air Transport Agency and the Emergencies Ministry," he said.
