The US military helicopter Black Hawk made an emergency landing on the busy street in the center of Bucharest, near the central square of the city.
The incident occurred during the rehearsal of the military parade dedicated to the Romanian Air Force and the withdrawal of the country's military from Afghanistan.
The helicopter shot down two street lamps and blocked road traffic, but there were no casualties. Soldiers, doctors and the police arrived on the scene. The causes of the accident are not yet known.
The US embassy together with the Romanian authorities is investigating the case. For its part, the Romanian Ministry of Defense has abolished the participation of airplanes and helicopters in the military parade.
