15 July 2021 European stock exchanges worsened again in closing, pushed down by fears about the rise in infections and the possible impact on the economic recovery. Milan loses 1.27%, a drop of around one point for Paris and Frankfurt, just higher for London. In Piazza Affari all sector indices were negative, with the sole exception of the medical sector, up by a tenth of a point thanks to the performance of Amplifon, better than the day with a + 1.18%. The US indices also remain weak: Dow Jones just above par at + 0.07%, a half point drop for the Nasdaq. They only partially reassured the words of Federal Reserve Chairman Powell, who yesterday called an intervention on inflation 'premature', thus dismissing the hypothesis of a rate hike.While the price of oil continues to fall: the news of an agreement within OPEC on the increase in production is confirmed and Brent slips to 74.38 dollars a barrel.
