Vy Tåg has entered into an agreement with the Swedish Transport Administration on night train traffic from Stockholm to upper Norrland from December 2020 to December 2024 and will offer travel opportunities in both directions between Stockholm and upper Norrland all year round.

Canceled trains - an expensive deal

But on March 13, the railway operator canceled two night trains and that means a fine of SEK 200,000.

In addition, the company suffers from withdrawn compensation due to lack of punctuality.

In three cases, the train was more than 61 minutes late.

In total, Vy Tåg thus loses SEK 221,000.

"The Swedish Transport Administration decides to reduce the compensation for traffic during March 2021 due to canceled trains and that Vy Tåg did not achieve the contractual punctuality during the period." writes department head Lennart Kalander in the decision.
