The decision to ease the restrictions has been made in light of the fact that the spread of infection is decreasing and that more and more people have been vaccinated.

- It is still up to these businesses to ensure that there is no congestion.

We have opened up for them to take greater responsibility themselves to organize their activities so there can be more, says Anders Tegnell, state epidemiologist at Morgonstudion.

In addition to easing restrictions on, among other things, amusement parks and shopping centers, long journeys by public transport are also becoming more common.

Passenger restrictions disappear on trains and buses.

Disturbing signals from Europe

Can we breathe out now?

- No, that's not the signal we want to send.

We have continued a pandemic and it has been shown in many countries that it is easy for the spread of infection to start again if you ease the restrictions too much and return too much to a life as it was before the pandemic.

Around the world, in Spain and the United Kingdom, among others, there has been a report of an increased spread of infection again in recent times.

Therefore, everyone who has been traveling before is recommended to do a PCR test when they come home to Sweden again.

- We must remember that we are easing the restrictions a bit, but there is still a lot of advice and restrictions left and it is very important that we now continue to follow them.

Continued restrictions on nightclubs

For example, you should continue to make sure that you do not end up in situations with a lot of congestion, where you stay very close to other people indoors in closed environments.

One place where the restrictions remain strict is therefore nightclubs.

- These are places where you see large outbreaks in different countries in Europe today.

In addition, many of the people who go to the places are those who have not yet been vaccinated, so it is not relevant in the situation we are in now.

Is it really the right time to ease the restrictions now?

- You can not be sure and therefore we follow the situation closely to see if it holds or if we may need to take something back again.

We have a stable situation in Sweden and these are measures that we believe can be eased without entailing an increased risk.
