In February, several people were attacked with a knife in Uddevalla.

One person was killed and one person was injured.

A total of five people are in custody for involvement in the incident.

Three minors will be detained on Thursday on suspicion of murder, reports P4 Väst.

Prosecutor Johan Fröjelin is critical of minors being detained for such a long time.

- The reason why they are still in custody is that we do not want them to be able to communicate with each other or witnesses to the crime, he says.

He says that negotiations have taken place regarding the detention period for the suspects and that the three recommended months have been reached, which in the case of detention of suspects under the age of 18 may be exceeded.

But are there no other options?

-

If the social services had decided on placement at Sis-hem, it could have been used instead of detention.

We do not think it would be justifiable in view of the crime to allow these young people to stay at home with their families.

Prosecution at the end of the summer

What happens now?

- The

defense of the total of five suspects has requested four weeks to go through the material and evidence we have produced, so we can not expect a prosecution to fall before mid-August at least.

The three young people deny the crime.
