Activists on social media circulated a picture of a tweet they said that former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri had deleted from his Twitter account, and that Saudi Arabia had a problem with Hezbollah and Lebanon.

The deleted tweet stated, "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a problem with Hezbollah and with Lebanon," before deleting the tweet and publishing another tweet saying, "My shoulder meat is from Saudi Arabia, and I am a loyal person, and my family is in Saudi Arabia."

Hariri also tweeted, "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia did not provide Lebanon with weapons and did not do May 7, Saudi Arabia gave peace to Lebanon and wants nothing but good for Lebanon as all the Gulf countries, but they have a problem with a group called Hezbollah."

Al-Hariri’s tweets came based on his words during a television interview with the local “Al-Jadeed” channel, which dealt with the reasons for his apology for forming the government, and in which the relations of Saudi Arabia with Lebanon and Hezbollah were discussed. It may not make the intended meaning.

Hariri had announced that his parliamentary bloc would not name anyone in the upcoming consultations to choose a new prime minister, while the presidency said that Hariri was not ready for any modification of any kind to his government proposal.

Hariri added, in an interview with the local "Al-Jadeed" channel, that he abandoned the formation of the government after it was confirmed that President Michel Aoun still wanted the blocking third and that his party would not give confidence to the government, stressing that he did not impose conditions on the president.

The Prime Minister-designate had announced Thursday from the presidential palace his apology for forming a new government, nine months after he was named, in a move that would deepen the suffering of the country mired in its worst economic crisis.
