It is an increase at a still low level, but with the central Corona code in Hesse, things are continuing to rise.

The same applies to the federal government.

The infection process continues to pick up, as can be seen from the data from the Robert Koch Institute.

With a view to the number of new cases below 100,000 inhabitants within a week, Hessen reports a double-digit figure for the first time since June 20.

Only Bremen and Berlin have higher indicators.

The new infections are 35 percent higher than the cases reported seven days ago.

Darmstadt now has the highest incidence in Hesse, where there was a noticeable increase overnight.

In addition to Darmstadt, the RKI now also ranks Wiesbaden and Frankfurt among the ten cities and districts with the highest indicators in all of Germany.

The Main-Taunus-Kreis, on the other hand, has dropped out of this list.

The good news: The Hersfeld-Rotenburg district is now within a week without a registered new infection.

Several special vaccination campaigns

In view of the Hessian vaccination quota, which is below average in Germany, and the considerable number of missed appointments in the 28 vaccination centers, there is now a nationwide list of successors. Spontaneous people can get a vaccination appointment with an mRNA vaccine, from BioNTech or Moderna, within a maximum of four days. Registration and

list can be found at

www.impfterminservice.hessen.de.

Another special vaccination campaign has started in the festival hall in Frankfurt. In this case, too, interested parties must register online - the link can be found here. And in the Main-Kinzig district there is a vaccination bus on certain days.

According to the RKI, the Hessian health authorities reported 152 new confirmed positive PCR tests overnight, after 112 a week ago and 127 a month ago. Since the pandemic began in March of last year, 292,135 people in Hesse have officially been infected with a variant of the corona virus. That is a little less than five percent of the country's population. Around 1200 infections are still active, i.e. not overcome. This value has not changed since Wednesday.

The Hessen incidence rose from 9.8 to 10.5.

In Darmstadt the incidence climbed from 17.5 to 23.1 and in Wiesbaden from 15.4 to 22.3.

But this is also due to a virus outbreak in a group of young tourists from Spain who are in a tent camp in the state capital.

After a slight increase, Frankfurt is now in third place in the Hessen ranking.

The Berlin institute recorded two more deaths in connection with the pandemic.

All in all, 7563 people in Hesse have died of or with Covid-19 so far.

According to data from the Divi Register, 54 people with Covid 19 disease were in the Hessian intensive care units after 68 a week ago.

26 of them had to be ventilated, six less than a week ago.

Divi stands for German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine.

58 percent of the Hessians with the first vaccination

With both vaccination rates, the centrally located federal state is still below the federal average.

Compared to the federal government, Hessen is still lagging a little behind when it comes to vaccination: According to the latest data, 58.4 percent of people in Hessen have received a first vaccination against the corona virus.

Hessen is now 0.8 points below the federal average.

The front runner is Bremen with 68.2 percent of the first vaccinated - Rhineland-Palatinate has 60.2.

Hesse also lags behind the federal mean for the fully vaccinated.

Hessen comes in at 43.8 percent and thus also 0.8 points below the average, Rhineland-Palatinate has 44.5 percent, Saarland is ahead with 47.9 percentage points.

3.67 million people in Hesse have been vaccinated at least once, and 2.76 million are already fully vaccinated.

Resident doctors and staff have so far administered almost 2.2 million vaccinations, as the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians has announced.

Since the beginning of April, the general practitioners' practices in Hesse have also been vaccinated against Covid-19, a little later the specialist practices and, on June 7th, the company doctors were added.
