The NBA Draft will return on July 29 in New York, at the Barclays Center, the Brooklyn Nets hall, with Congolese winger Jonathan Kuminga among the headliners, the North American Basketball League (NBA) announced on Thursday.

This room had hosted without interruption, from 2013 to 2019, the selection of young talents of the NBA.

The 2020 edition had taken place virtually, at a distance, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The most coveted players will be Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green and Jalen Suggs, as well as giant Evan Mobley (2.13m) and Jonathan Kuminga.

Spectators will be welcome again this year, with the top pick for the Detroit Pistons who won the Draft lottery.

This will be the first time that the NBA Draft has been held in July since the very first edition in 1947, when the League was still called the Basketball Association of America.

Behind Detroit, the next clubs to be able to choose a player, in order, will be Houston, Cleveland, Toronto, Orlando and Oklahoma City.

Orlando will also have the 8th pick while Oklahoma City will have the 16th and 18th picks, and Houston the 23rd and 24th picks in the first round.
