Warning to travelers not to use public Wi-Fi

The Abu Dhabi Digital Authority warned travelers against using public internet networks, as it warned that hackers usually use these networks because they know their importance during travel, and they use them to steal personal data.

The authority published a number of cyber tips through its accounts on social media, including instructions for safe browsing the Internet, as it called on users to verify before clicking on any link or advertisement from the URL to which it is linked, and to ensure that the requested domain is correct, explaining This can easily be checked by hovering over the link, and looking at the address preview text, since the address should start with HTTPS.

Users are advised to keep the antivirus and firewall programs up to date on their computer.

She noted that the use of VPNs helps maintain privacy by encrypting data and Internet requests before they reach the Internet.

She pointed out that some websites track a user's browsing data, and they can prevent this by regularly clearing the browser's cache and deleting unwanted cookies.
