• The Alsatian Aurélie Antenat launched Tolteca, her perfume brand three years ago.

  • With a guiding idea, “to ban all controversial ingredients and synthetic elements found in conventional.

I really wanted to offer ethical products, and 100% natural.

    "

  • Two new products have just been offered for sale: aquatic fragrances.

Who has ever looked at the composition of their perfume?

You?

No.

Aurélie Antenat, yes.

This is even how this entrepreneur from Sélestat, Alsace, had the idea to launch her perfume brand in 2018. “I was looking for a vegan fragrance and I noticed that it was very difficult to find in France ”, recalls the creator of Tolteca, a name chosen as a reference… of a book.

“

The four Toltec accords

by Don Miguel Ruiz, a well-known work in personal development, gave me the courage to go there.

To free myself from my fears, ”continues the 30-something, who has worked for a long time as a professional makeup artist in Strasbourg.

Before resuming studies in communication, business management and therefore fully immersing yourself in the world of perfumery.

With a guiding idea, “to ban all controversial ingredients and synthetic elements found in conventional perfumes.

I really wanted to offer ethical, vegan and 100% natural products.

“Not easy… But six have already emerged, before the last two born, one female and one male.

Packaging to plant!

Still on the theme of the forces of nature, this time they are devoted to water.

“It was very difficult to compose an aquatic fragrance without any synthetic molecule,” insists Aurélie Antenat.

“But Stéphanie Bakouche, who had worked for other brands before and is based in Grasse, took up the challenge.

Our creation is certified 99.99% natural by Ecocert.

Not 100% because the perfume concentrate is diluted in organic wheat alcohol which is denatured.

"

Small detail: the packaging of the pocket bottle (11 ml, 20 euros) is in seeded paper.

Or "with seeds of wild flowers which are to be planted".

And that of the largest container (50 ml, 50 euros) has a "cover that turns into a key ring".

Always in a zero waste approach.

Soon solid perfumes?

The two fragrances are currently the subject of a rather successful crowdfunding campaign on Ulule, with nearly 250 pre-sales out of an initial target of 150. The entrepreneur now based in Bellefosse, in the Bas-Rhin, does not count s 'stop there.

“Still in an investment phase” for her company, she is already working on solid perfume and oil projects.

Of course 100% natural (or almost).

Our perfume file

“Yes, we are not the only brand to offer products of this type, but we are among the first and this is the current trend,” she concludes.

“We are on a return to the perfumery of yesteryear which was based solely on naturalness.
