Hear Leo talk about the incident in the clip above.

Leo's friend was only 51 years old when he died of covid-19 in March this year.

He died at home, while Leo repeatedly tried to get an ambulance to come.

- He was suffocated very painfully to death, says Leo who spoke to the alarm center a total of three times.

In the first conversation with the health care alarm center in Västra Götaland, Leo states that his friend has difficulty breathing, that he cannot keep his head up and that he cannot stand on his feet.

Despite this, he receives priority 2 from the alarm operator, ie not an emergency.

Coughed up blood

After forty minutes, Leo calls again.

Then his friend started vomiting blood.

- I said where the hell are you ?!

They replied that they were on their way.

It took an hour and twenty minutes for them to arrive.

Then my friend was dead, says Leo.

The chief physician's answer

Per Gyllén, chief physician at Regionhälsan, says that it is possible that Leo's friend could have survived if the ambulance had arrived faster.

- In this incident, we have broken down, he says.

The incident is Lex Maria reported.

Here you can see a longer answer from Regionhälsan about why the ambulance was delayed.
