In his opinion, the EU is well aware of the adopted amendments to the Russian Constitution regarding marriage.
Milonov said that "there is the only possibility of getting married - it is a marriage between a man and a woman."
“If tomorrow the European Union demands from us to legalize relations with vacuum cleaners or with hamsters, we, just like in the case of same-sex marriages, will not be taken seriously at all,” he said.
Earlier, the ECHR published a message in which it called the refusal of same-sex couples to marry in Russia unfair.
The Kremlin said that there is no need to look for any compromise form of registration of such relations, noting that there is an absolutely unambiguous wording in the Russian Constitution.
