"A pre-investigation check is being carried out on the fact of the discovery ... of a mass grave of civilians who died at the hands of the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War," the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia reports.
It is noted that the location was established thanks to archival work done by the Pskov teacher and schoolchildren.
According to preliminary information, there may be several thousand people killed by the Nazis from 1941 to 1943 in the ground.
Earlier it was reported that the remains of the victims of the Nazis were found in the Kuban.
In May, a mass grave of citizens killed by the Nazis was found near Novgorod.
