Paris SG formalized on Wednesday the recruitment until 2026 of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who arrived free at 22 from AC Milan and recently named best player of the Euro, which he won with Italy.

The capital club strikes a blow by attracting the freshest European champion, now in competition with the experienced Keylor Navas (34), without having paid the slightest transfer fee, as he did with the Spanish defender Sergio Ramos and Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, out of contract at Real Madrid and Liverpool respectively.

"I am very happy to be part of this great club that is Paris Saint-Germain. I feel ready to take on this new challenge, and continue to grow here. With Paris, I want to win as much as possible and give joy to the supporters, "reacted Donnarumma, quoted in a statement from PSG.

"I know that Gianluigi will receive a warm welcome from everyone at the club, including his teammates, our staff and all the Parisian supporters," said Parisian President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

For the vice-champions of France, this is the fourth notable arrival during the offseason including that of the Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, versatile side from Inter Milan for an amount estimated by the press at around 60 millions of euros.

Winner of Le Mans (4-0) Wednesday for its recovery, the team led by Mauricio Pochettino will play its second preparatory meeting on Saturday against another National 1 club, Chambly.

Two other friendly matches are planned before the Champions Trophy which will pit the winner of the last Coupe de France, on August 1 in Tel Aviv, against the champion of France from Lille.
