July 14, 2021 Laura Bovoli, mother of the former premier Matteo Renzi, was acquitted by the Cuneo court from the accusation of complicity in documentary fraudulent bankruptcy for a Cuneo-based company, Direkta srl.

The judges' decision came after an hour in the Council Chamber. Bovoli was not present in the courtroom.

The process was linked to the bankruptcy of Direkta which dealt with the distribution of flyers and advertising for large retailers. Bovoli was at the helm at the time of "Eventi6" in Rignano sull'Arno, a company that received contracts from large supermarket chains.
