As the Delta variant progresses and vaccination slows, President Emmanuel Macron again addressed the French on Monday from the Elysee Palace.

During this long-awaited speech, the Head of State notably announced the compulsory vaccination of caregivers under penalty of sanctions and the extension of the health pass.

Compulsory vaccination of caregivers under penalty of sanction, compulsory health pass for restaurants, bars, cinemas and events of more than 50 people, paid PCR tests in the fall ... The Head of State announced, Monday, several strong measures intended to stem a fourth wave of Covid-19 which is increasingly inevitable due to the spread of the Delta variant.

Compulsory vaccination for caregivers

"It is a new speed race which is engaged", launched Emmanuel Macron, evoking "a summer of mobilization for the vaccination".

Believing it essential to "vaccinate as many people as possible, everywhere and at any time", the President of the Republic announced that vaccination will now be compulsory for all nursing and non-nursing staff working in clinics, nursing homes, but also volunteers who work in contact with the elderly.

"I know that you are ready for this commitment," said the head of state.

He said that the people concerned will have to be vaccinated before September 15.

"From September 15, checks will be made, and penalties imposed."
