The yellow jersey of the Tour de France Tadej Pogacar (UAE) assured Monday "understand" the questions that may raise his performance on the Great Loop, which he dominates with more than 5 minutes ahead of his first pursuer.

"I'm not angry," the Slovenian replied to a journalist at a press conference organized by his team on the occasion of the second day of rest.

"These are uncomfortable questions because the history of cycling has not been rosy, but I totally understand why there are all these questions," said Pogacar.

"I have not prepared my answers. I like to ride my bike and whatever that implies, I accept it", developed the outgoing winner, who also reconsidered his choice not to publish his performance data.

"If you share your data, it can influence the tactics. Other teams can see what your limit is on certain fields," Pogacar said.

Less inclined to attack during the second week of the race, he admitted to having gone "in defensive mode".

"I run from day to day. If I have an opportunity to take time from my opponents, it's okay to take. It only takes a bad day for any stage to be complicated or decisive," said concluded the Slovenian, ahead of Rigoberto Uran (EF Education) by 5 min 18 and Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo) by 5 min 32 before the last six stages.
