The film shows how two masked men enter the back door of the hairdressing salon in Gothenburg - and shoot a man in his 25s to death.

Several people witnessed the fatal shooting that occurred on Friday afternoon.

It is one of eight shootings that have been reported in various places in Sweden since last Friday.

According to police statistics, 149 shootings occurred during the first six months of the year.

This is less than the corresponding period last year when 179 shootings were registered, reports SvD.

Not uncommon with clusters

But criminologist Manne Gerell, associate professor at Malmö University, does not think it is particularly strange that several shootings occur in a short time.

- Without having insight into the current cases, it may well be that some of these shootings are revenge on previous shootings.

According to Manne Gerell, this is an effect that has been clearly demonstrated in several studies.

- This means that the probability of clusters, with many shootings in a short time, is quite high, he says.

Three shootings in Malmö

Malmö has recently been highlighted as a precedent as the number of shootings has decreased sharply since they started the project "Stop shooting" 2018. But over the weekend, three shootings that can be linked to conflicts among criminals took place in the city, according to police.

- I think Malmö has done something right.

But that does not mean that the reduction lasts forever, it goes up and down, says Manne Gerell.

He does not think it affects the police's strategy.

- But it will mean more efforts in these areas and against the networks that are involved.

It is part of the strategy.
