12 July 2021 A crown on his head and the cup in his right hand: Giorgio Chiellini gets off the bus that brought the Italian national team from Fiumicino to the Parco dei Principi, where the Azzurri will be based until the afternoon when there will be meetings with the President of the Repubblica Sergio Mattarella and immediately afterwards with Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

Waiting for them at the Roman airport were about two hundred fans, a few fewer units (a hundred) in the hotel that hosts Italy.

The tricolor flags, the hymn sung out loud and the chorus "we are the European champions".

Among the most acclaimed the technical commissioner Roberto Mancini, the goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and the Juventus defender. For the Azzurri and the staff, a celebratory shirt with the word "champions" on the back and the stylized gold signatures of all the players. The National team will have lunch in the hotel and then in the afternoon, from 5 pm, will visit President Mattarella, where there will also be the tennis player Matteo Berrettini who has just returned from the historic Wimbledon final, and then at 6.30 pm the meeting with the Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
