The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has begun to introduce domestic NPOs that offer online consultations in order to support overseas Japanese who are worried or anxious about loneliness or isolation due to the prolonged corona illness.

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the government has set up a room in charge and is considering specific measures, saying that the problems of loneliness and isolation are becoming more serious.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has begun to introduce NPO corporations that provide support on its website, saying that many Japanese living overseas also feel such worries and anxieties.

Five NPO corporations are listed on the homepage, including groups that can be consulted via 24-hour chat and groups that work to prevent suicide.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to establish a contact system with support groups in case an urgent response is required.

Kosei Ozora, the chairman of the NPO "Your Ibasho," said, "We need to listen carefully to the voices of people who cannot ask for help. Everyone who suffers from loneliness and isolation, including those living overseas. Please feel free to consult with us so that we can be close to you. "
