The reason for the protest was the death of TV Pirveli operator Lekso Lashkarava.

He suffered during the demonstration on July 5, after which he was treated for several days in the clinic and was eventually discharged.

On July 11 it became known that he had died.

The exact reasons for his death are still unknown.

“Our main demand is that the Prime Minister of Georgia and his government, as well as the head of the State Security Service, Liluashvili, must resign before morning.

These are the people who organized and spent Black Monday for the Georgian media, ”Nika Gvaramia, director of the Mtavari Arkhi TV company, told reporters.

Earlier it was reported that clashes between protesters and police began near the office of the ruling party of the country "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia" in Tbilisi.
