"In Tashkent, Ambassador Khalilzad will take part in an international conference on regional connectivity organized by the government of Uzbekistan," the US Department of State said in a statement.
The diplomat intends to "work with all parties, as well as regional and international stakeholders" to advance consensus on a political settlement in Afghanistan.
As US President Joe Biden said earlier, the US will continue its diplomatic efforts to resolve the situation in Afghanistan.
