This autumn, the front doors of Umeå's local buses will open - protective glass will stop infection

During the pandemic, passengers on the buses in the county boarded through the back doors to avoid covid-19 infection.

But to continue to only have the back door open is not relevant as Ultra needs to raise money. 

- We have lost 50 percent of our ticket revenues during the pandemic, says Camilla Nordlund, head of Transdev in Umeå.

Tried only in Umeå

The protective glass, which is made of tempered glass, will protect the drivers and the test will be evaluated during the summer.

In Skellefteå, on the other hand, Skellefteåbuss continues to run with closed front doors as long as the pandemic continues.
