July 10, 2021WTA number one Ashleigh Barty wins the women's final of the Wimbledon grass tournament.
The Australian beat Czech Karolína Plíšková in three sets, with a score of 6-3 6-7 (4) 6-3.
It is the second Grand Slam won by Barty, after the success at Roland Garros in 2019.
It was 41 years that an Australian had not
won
at Wimbledon, after the title of Evonne Goolagong in 1980, winning against the American Chris Evert.
