According to RIA Novosti, the Safety Committee of the European regulator prepared a report stating that these vaccines in extremely rare cases can lead to myocarditis and pericarditis.
In this regard, it was decided to update the information on the side effects of these drugs.
It is clarified that in the EU, after using 177 million doses of Pfizer vaccine, 145 cases of myocarditis, pericarditis - 138 were detected. Among about 2 million people vaccinated with Moderna, 19 cases of both heart diseases were identified.
Earlier it was reported that Pfizer and BioNTech expects to provide US and EU regulators with data on the booster dose of their COVID-19 vaccine in the coming weeks.
