At least 27 people were killed Friday evening in two road accidents in Algeria, local media reported on Saturday.

A collision between a bus and a truck left 18 dead and 11 injured on a national road connecting Constantine to Jijel in the northeast of the country, according to the official APS news agency.

Six children are among the victims, she said.

In Bordj Badji Mokhtar, in the far south of the country, an all-terrain vehicle and a truck collided, the private television channel El Hayet TV reported.

Nine people perished in this accident which would be due to poor visibility in this region of the Sahara, according to the same source.
