No question for Stéphane Le Foll to leave the field open to Anne Hidalgo. For him, the mayor of Paris is not the only one able to represent the party. The former minister does not hide his personal ambitions and pleads for the organization of a primary: "

Me, I will make a book, I will present ideas, but there should at least be a debate within the PS , very open, so the organization of a primary, to be able to discuss a little bit. We cannot prepare for a presidential election without there still being a minimum of debate.

"

A call to the primary far from being the majority within the party where the initiative of the mayor of Le Mans is very freshly received.

It is quite obvious that today it is the candidacy of Anne Hidalgo which emerges among the socialists, and I do not see others,"

said Corinne Narassiguin national secretary for the coordination of the PS.

So there is no reason at this stage to arouse artificial competition among the socialists when there is a strong candidacy emerging.

"

There remains a major problem: the organization of primaries is written in black and white in the statutes of the Socialist Party.

The national office is preparing a modification in this direction, which will be presented at the PS congress in September.
