“On July 8, two Su-24 aircraft of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation performed a planned training flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that the flight was carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace without violating the borders of other states.

Earlier, the media reported that a press conference with the participation of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda at the NATO base was interrupted due to an alarm signal.

As specified, the event was interrupted due to the urgent departure of two NATO aircraft to intercept the Russian one.
