The Congolese opposition has remained very silent since the presidential election it lost last March.

The Action Committee for Renewal (CAR) came out of the woods on Wednesday July 7th.

Its president has asked about twenty groups, and even free voters, to set up a framework for reflection on the overhaul of the opposition, one year from the legislative and local group elections of 2022.

Faced with the press, Clotaire Mboussa-Ellah, chairman of the Action Committee for Renewal, felt that the opposition must make efforts to overcome “

its stagnation

 ”.

This is how he proposes a regrouping of all his formations around the same objective in view of the electoral deadlines of next year.

We think that the opposition needs to be rebuilt,

" declared Clotaire Mboussa-Ellah.

I want a framework for reflection that will analyze all the situations so that we can leave, before the 2022 elections, a strong and responsible opposition.

People have gotten into the habit of calling out for opposition, but in practice, that is not the behavior.

 "

Inclusive dialogue

Very close to Pascal Tsaty-Mabiala, leader of the opposition, the leader of the CAR, also requested the overhaul of the law and the Electoral Commission for peaceful elections.

Contacted, Clément Miérassa of the Congolese Social Democratic Party (PSDC) did not wish to comment on this call for the rally.

However, he affirmed that in view of the political situation, the actors must create the conditions for a relaxation which requires, among other things, the organization of an inclusive dialogue.
