Blankets, pillows, sheepskin armchairs, beds, a lamp and a TV set are some of the things that needed to be thrown away.

- Almost everything has been destroyed, says Marian Ammentorp.

In the basement, dehumidification work is now underway, which is estimated to take three months before Marian Ammentorp can start using the recreation room again.

- My mood is upside down.

Sometimes it goes well and sometimes it goes badly.

I try to stay up as much as I can, but then I take a gray walk from time to time and then I stomp and say "this is going to work".

Empty eight containers

To help the victims, Uppvidinge municipality has also exhibited containers in Älghult.

There, residents can throw away their water-damaged objects.

Maik Heinzon helps in the crisis management work.

When SVT meets him on Thursday morning, eight containers had been removed and emptied.

Containers that have been put in place at Älghult's glassworks for the public.

- It is an important task, that we give society security and show where they can get rid of their stuff, he says.

Insurance

Marian Ammentorp is worried that she will not receive any compensation on her insurance.

Most of the objects in the recreation room were older.

Mattias Gutegård, claims manager at Dina Försäkringar, explains that there is something called an age deduction.

- If your wallpaper is younger than five years, the insurance covers it.

However, if you have an older wallpaper, you may have to pay a percentage to restore it.

When it comes to movable property, such as furniture, there is a market value of the items, which means that you always get some type of compensation for them.

- There is always a value to things, but it differs, says Mattias Gutegård.

In the acute phase of a flood, decontamination and dehumidification are included in the deductible.
