He said that integrated service centers will be developed in all areas of Dubai, with a focus on raising the level of quality of life and raising the population density within the areas near the main mass transit stations.

Al Tayer added - during the main session of the Moscow Urban Forum, which is a global event for the gathering of governors of major global cities and experts in urban planning, to discuss important issues with the world's real estate sector leaders - that Dubai has made great strides in transforming into a sustainable city that serves people and improves the quality of life. In his speech, Al Tayer explained that the RTA has implemented, within 15 years, infrastructure projects in the roads and transportation sectors, valued at more than 145 billion dirhams, the most important of which are the Dubai Metro and Tram projects, and the increase of the public transport fleet from about 600 buses in 2006 to more than 1,700 buses. In 2020, increasing the length of the bike path network from 10 kilometers in 2006 to 463 kilometers in 2020, and it intends to raise the total length of bike paths to about 750 kilometers in the next five years, to make Dubai among the world's best bike-friendly cities.

He stressed that the Authority's efforts in developing road infrastructure contributed to the UAE's obtaining the first place in the world in road quality for five consecutive years (2013-2017), according to the reports of the World Economic Forum.

Al Tayer reviewed the authority’s experience in implementing a number of major infrastructure projects, the most important of which is the Dubai Water Canal project, which is one of the complex projects, as the canal route passes under the Dubai Metro Red Line and below Sheikh Zayed Road, which consists of eight lanes in each direction, and streets Another major in an area with complete infrastructure, a huge network of important service lines, and despite these challenges, the project was completed on schedule.

He touched on Dubai's readiness to host the "Expo 2020 Dubai" exhibition, where the authority has completed all the requirements related to roads and mass transportation, the most important of which is the operation of the extension of the Dubai Metro Red Line (Route 2020), which is 15 kilometers long and extends to the site of "Expo 2020", and includes seven Stations serving a number of development areas along the line, and these projects contribute to facilitating visitors' access to the global event site, where traffic and crowd management, from and to the exhibition site, will be through the unified control center for transportation and road systems, which is one of the largest and most modern smart control centers. In the world, in terms of employing advanced technologies, and its ability to control, control and integrate all the different means of transportation for the authority, and manage 30,000 parking spaces for vehicles in the exhibition.
