In an apartment building in Las Vegas, USA, a middle-aged white man rubs the railing of the hallway stairs with something.

Whatever the man holds in his hand, he rubs it with bacon, and whatever he touches down to the doorknob.

[Victim family: I rubbed everything from the stair railing to the door frame with bacon. Unfortunately, the children came home early and touched it.] I

even hung bacon from the car exhaust.

The startled homeowner checked the CCTV and reported it to the police.

The culprit was a man in his 50s who lived right next door.

It was done to humiliate the family upstairs, a Muslim who abstained from pork.

[Victim family: It's not a big deal if you touch bacon, but it's inconvenient for someone else to rub the surface and walls of the house with meat.] The

man downstairs has been arguing with the family upstairs for no reason or making fun of them for no reason. I did too.

He also accused the police that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were carried out by Muslims and that his family members were also terrorists.

Although there was no violence, the victims' families claim that they clearly hated their neighbors because of their religious beliefs.

[Victim Family: He clearly hated our family. We did our best to make you feel uncomfortable. I'm pretty sure this is a hate crime.] The

white man downstairs has been charged with harassment and stalking, as well as a hate crime.
